I’ve always been physical active-rugby, gym, kayaking, outdoor pursuits etc, but once kids came along, these all took a back seat.

Having turned 50 and squired the stereotypical ”dad-bod” (despite plugging away at boring gym routines), I read about functional training and realised there was a centre close to where I lived and worked. Joining in April 2017, the hardest part was the initial walk through the door into the relatively unknown. However, the fraternity that I discovered was a revelation and combined with great coaching in a group of like-minded people of all ages, types and fitness levels, I felt very much welcomed and soon settled in.

The first 6 weeks were tough learning new techniques and aching in places I’d not known of before! I felt within months my strength and cardio had tangibly improved, and I relished the diversity and weekly new challenges that the gym offered. You can compete against yourself or others, and participate in great combined workouts that really push you to improve and test your boundaries.

There are some things I’ll probably never master, but I’m always willing to give them a go. Since starting, I improved my diet, slept better and generally feel fitter, stronger and carry less fat than when I was in my twenties (when I thought of myself as fairly fit and active). I never thought I’d see my 6 pack again (last present in the 1980s😂), but it has re-emerged thanks to CF72 and a sensible diet (I still eat chocolate and drink too much wine🍷).

I never get bored with it or the great people I share my passion (and now my life❤️), with! I’m possibly the oldest in the shed but I wear that as a badge of honour-you are never too old or unfit to change your life. I’m so glad I took that first leap of faith when I did. 👍🕺🏻

After 9 years of cycling i decided to give it a rest and take on a new challenge, so I started at CF72.

Just finished my first 8 weeks and it’s just awesome! It’s tough but if you want to make them changes to your health, body and mind this is it. A great friendly environment even at 6AM!! Coaches are great very knowledgable and they make a point of getting technique right.

What a transformation, after 8 weeks of training and nutrition i managed to loos another 6.5KG and 8.5% Body Fat! We all have the ability to change, it may take time but we all can make ourselves healthier and better people.

Cheers guys looking forward to the next 7 weeks

In November of 2018 I did a taster session at CF72 and loved it. I went in to it not really knowing what it actually was. I was instantly hooked and joined straight away. I started by doing the 6am classes 3 sessions a week, before upping it to 5 sessions at the end of January. I’ve also started doing partner WOD on Saturdays which is an awesome workout!

I love the variety of workouts and how everything can be scaled to suit all abilities. Going through all the progression of different movements has kept me motivated and wanting to get to the next level. When I joined I was unable to do 1 pull up, I can now link 12 kipping pull ups and this week achieved my first muscle up. I’m the fittest, strongest and healthiest I’ve ever been!

The class environment is great and the support of all the members and coaches is amazing, everyone gets behind each other to get the workouts done!

The first time I stepped through the door I never envisaged achieving the results that I have!

Thank you to everyone at CF72

Never in a million years would I think I could get up and be at the gym for 6am most mornings. The energy and drive going to CF72 has given me is amazing.

Love the coaches, and the team community vibe. I completed the kickstarter and now signed up as a member.

I joined to get fitter for my mountain biking and it sure is helping! I have lost inches, and gained muscle. As a self confessed CHIP & BREAD addict, I haven’t touched either since I started!!!

I started at CF72 June 2016 (I think). I had virtually no experience with a barbell prior to that. I had only ever done long distance running. I had no idea what I was getting myself into. There are days I walk into the gym now and still have no idea what I’m getting myself into, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

CF72 has taken me from a size 10 runner with no strength, through pregnancy to a new mother carrying (a bit too much) baby weight and now I’m fitter and stronger than ever. The place keeps me sane.

The coaching and support from every single member of staff is top notch. There’s still plenty I can’t do, but that’s ok because there is always an alternative and/or a progression. It’s the type of exercise anyone can do, it’s scalable to what is challenging for you.

The community they have created is amazing. All members encourage each other, and help each other out. The friends I’ve made in the last 3.5-4 years are much more than gym friends. And not forgetting the social events 🥂summer bbqs, nights out, charity events. I make the most of them all 🤪

I don’t know any other gym that is as friendly, supportive, or as fun.

No ordinary gym

You’ll not find members aimlessly wandering around here. Everything you do at CF72 Fitness is programmed and coached. We only do things that work in getting you fitter, stronger, leaner and more confident.
